Clothes/Cloths Empty
PostSubject: Clothes/Cloths   Clothes/Cloths Icon_minitimeThu Sep 22, 2011 11:31 pm

Overview

The 88 Cloths (聖衣 Cuross) are the armors worn by Athena's Saints, one for each constellation. There are 48 Bronze Clothes, 24 Silver Cloth, 12 Gold Cloths, 4 Cloths of unknown material and, outside of the 88, one more Cloth that is Athena's Cloth, a God Cloth. It's an usual trait that the strongest the Cloth is, the more it covers the wearer body, with a few exceptions, so while Bronze Cloths cover a small part of the body, usually the most important vital points and not much more, the Gold Cloths are very covering, leaving very small parts of the body uncovered, like the upper legs and upper arms. The Cloths are of extreme importance to Saints both defensively and offensively.

They firstly cover [Saints] bodies because despite their superhuman capacities, they still have human bodies that would be quickly damaged to death with those powers. Cloths have also a great importance in the attacking phase not only because arms and legs are covered by the Cloth, but most of all because Cloths creates a sort of synergy with the Saint and his/her constellation, helping him/her to burn Cosmo at the extreme extent making it explode.

Cloths can't be trusted exclusively without relying on Cosmo first, because if it isn't the Saint that burns his Cosmo in the first place, the Cloth will not react to it and won't harmonize with it's wearer, becoming a dead and heavy armor that results more a burden than a help. In case the Saint would burn his Cosmo instead, the Cloth amplifies his skills greatly allowing him to show the full potential.

Cloths are known to be living beings, that's because they are filled with Cosmo that is the source of life and in extreme situations have shown to be able to take decisions on their own. They can also respond to the will of their previous deceased owners, like there would be a bond between them and their Cloths, even after death. A Cloth that is heavily damaged or destroyed could actually die and become useless, unless it's revived with the use of some ingredients including a great quantity of Saint's blood. The other elements Cloths are made include: Gamanium, Stardust Sand and Orihalcon, an almost indestructible metal.

Cloths are kept hidden in wild places until the destined Saints receive them from their masters, often the previous owners of the Cloths themselves. There is a place in Jamir called "Cloths Graveyard" where many dead Cloths are left unused. It's said that they are a remnants of a previous Holy War but very few is known. Cloths are kept inside special boxex called Box Cloth or Pandora's Boxes, the latter name is referred to the fact that a Cloth can bring both hope or despair, according to how it's used, for justice or for personal reasons, that means Cloths are powerful weapons. It's said that a damaged Cloth can progressively repair itself, especially staying inside it's Box, but repairs are mostly illusory because the Cloth endurance decreases and they become more and more fragile until properly repaired. To repair Cloths a Saint needs some special tools related to the Sculptor Bronze Cloth, whose Saint is specialized in repairs.

Gold Clothes

Gold Clothes are the highest class of the cloth that Athena's Saints wield, and the least common. They provide the most protection, and cover most of the body, though they don't have as many unique abilities as their weaker counterparts.

Specifications

Like all cloth, Gold Cloths are alive. Using the cosmo of the wearer, they function as protection. They can be destroyed, though they had survived from the ages of myth through countless battle. It takes the strength of a god in his true body to shatter a Gold Cloth. They all freeze at -273.15 degrees Celsius (Absolute Zero) and typically speaking, the wearers can fight at the Speed of Light, due to their having awakened the Seventh Sense. With their Clothes being so enduring, their bodies almost entirely covered, and being able to fight at the Speed of Light, harming a Gold Saint proves a challenge.

History

While the Bronze Cloths and the Silver Cloths generally have constellations that lie to the north and south of the Sun's path (Ophiuchus Silver Cloth being the exception), the Gold Clothes have constellations that lie along the Sun's path through the Cosmo, each being blocked by the Sun at a differing time. Being the Zodiac, these Cloths have absorbed the light of the Sun since the days of Myth, and can even recreate that might when combined.
